The creator of the musical “Hamilton” and the director of “Crazy Rich Asians” invite you to the event of the summer, where the streets are made of music and small dreams become big… “In a New York Neighborhood”.

The New York neighborhood of Washington Heights lights up… The aroma of a hot cafecito floats in the air just outside the 181st Street subway exit, where a kaleidoscope of dreams brings together this joyful and supportive community. And in the midst of it all we meet Usnavi (Anthony Ramos) the friendly owner of the popular bodega, who saves every penny as he waits, imagines and sings about a better life.

“In a New York City Neighborhood” fuses the cinematic music and lyrics of Lin-Manuel Miranda with the talent and authenticity of director John M. Chu to tell of stories set in a world that may seem small but is universal.

“In a New York City Neighborhood” stars Anthony Ramos (“A Star is Born,” Broadway musical “Hamilton”), Corey Hawkins (“Straight Outta Compton,” “Infiltrator in the KKKlan”), singer/songwriter Leslie Grace, Melissa Barrera (TV series “Vida”) , Olga Merediz (Broadway musical “In the Heights”), Daphne Rubin-Vega (Broadway musical “Rent”), Gregory Diaz IV (Broadway musical “Matilda the Musical”), Stephanie Beatriz (TV series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”), Dascha Polanco (TV series “Orange is the New Black”) and Jimmy Smits (“Star Wars” films).

Chu directs the film from a script by Quiara Alegria Hudes; it is based on the musical play, with music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, libretto by Quiara Alegria Hudes and concept by Miranda. Miranda and Hudes, along with Scott Sanders, Anthony Bregman and Mara Jacobs are the producers of “In a New York City Neighborhood.” David Nicksay and Kevin McCormick are executive producers.
